Andrea Shugar, B.Sc, MS, CGC

Welcome to GeneScreen! I am a Board-Certified (ABGC) genetic counsellor practicing in Ontario Canada.  I hold a B.Sc. in Human Biology from the University of Toronto, and a Masters in Biological Sciences & Genetic Counselling from the University of Cincinnati.  I have worked in the field of clinical genetics for over 25 years, with experience in Pediatric, Adult, Prenatal and Laboratory Genetics.  

My philosophy and approach

Whether or not to have genetic testing is a personal choice.  My role is to help you make an informed choice that aligns with your values and needs.  I aim to help my clients understand the potential benefits and limitations of carrier screening so that they can make the right decision for them - no pressure!
